Spotlight on Christopher Zullo, SSC’sfounder and Artistic Director. Christopher’s credits as a performer have taken him all over the United States and to Europe. He has performed off-Broadway in Songs For A New World and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland in Romeo & Juliet. He has been a member in good standing with the Screen Actors Guild since 2009, after appearing in It’s Complicated and has worked in theatre, film, and television for over 25 years. Favorite stage credits include: Gabriel (Next To Normal), Adam/Noah (Children of Eden), Paris (Romeo & Juliet), Man 2 (Songs For A New World), Beethoven (Dog Sees God), Schroeder (You're A Good Man Charlie Brown) and most recently as Joseph (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat). Christopher has danced with various dance companies in Connecticut, New York and Florida including LaMar Productions, Main Street Ballet, Thrive: The Essence of Dance, Performing Art Studio Be and Cirque Le Masque. Working with actors as a director is such a joy for Christopher. He has directed many plays and musicals and taught various classes in acting, auditioning techniques and dance. Having worked for many different companies and organizations over the years he has learned many tricks of the trade to pass on to others looking to further their craft. Spotlight on Vincent McCoy our Associate Artistic Director. Vinny has been involved in theater from a very young age. He grew up performing at the Warner Theatre, Thomaston Opera House, Seven Angels, and Musicals at Richter. He later became involved behind the scenes as well. Before studying & graduating from Western Connecticut State University with a BA in Musical Theater and being awarded the VASTA award for Voice and Diction by KCACTF, he performed in the World Premier & 1st National Tour of Magic Tree House: The Musical. Shortly after graduation, he made his directorial debut with Damn Yankees at the Warner Theatre. While living in NYC, he interned with Broadway Records and helped the producing team of many Broadway shows including Big Fish, Matilda, and Velocity of Autumn. He also performed in the World Premier & later the Off- Broadway production of Liberty -A Monumental New Musical as the Assistant Director/Dance Captain/Male Swing. Spotlight on Michelle Bonavena our Resident Choreographer! Michelle has been a member of the SSC team and our resident choreographer since 2020. She owns and operates the award winning Performing Art Studio Be, in North Haven CT, where she also teaches dance, vocals, and musical theatre. Michelle is a mom to two girls, Aria and Alessia who are both performers. Alessia has been seen in a few of SSC's Youth Productions.
Michelle has been dancing and singing her whole life, teaching for most of it and has been a successful business woman for many years as well.
Spotlight on Shannon Denihan the newest artist to join our company. Performing since the age of 3, Shannon has over 40 years of experience in theatre and dance. Favorite credits: “Anything Goes” (Reno Sweeney), “Kiss Me Kate” (Bianca/Lois), “Funny Girl” (Fanny Brice), “Rocky Horror Show” (Columbia) and “Nunsense”(Sister Amnesia). Shannon is a director and choreographer having worked off-Broadway, internationally and at many local theatres. Shannon is a 1st grade teacher at SMMS in Oakville and lives in Naugatuck with her husband and daughter.
